National Novel Writing Month is just around the corner…well, a few weeks off, but for those who intend on joining in this foolery, the challenge is 50,000 words in 30 days. I’m still working on my current project, so I’ll pass this year.
The writing group I’ve organized came up with a good idea; to plan our own NaNoWriMo, but for us, we’d change around the rules a bit.
We lowered the word count to 25,000 words in thirty days.
We’re allowed current projects to be included, even if you’ve already started them or even have them half done. It doesn’t change that you still need to reach your word count. Re-writers are also allowed for those who have completed novels but need to do serious re-writing.
Novels, short stories, and even non-fiction are also allowed. The important thing is to meet the word count. So I guess its more of a NaMaWriMo (National Manuscript Writing Month).
I’m thinking of designing a graphic successful members can post in their blogs when finished.
